The physical strain of pushing heavy, fully loaded bins up inclines created not only safety risks but also operational inefficiencies in their daily waste disposal process.

Each collection day required multiple trips up and down the ramp, with staff physically manoeuvring bins that could weigh close to a tonne when full. The steep gradient increased the risk of bins rolling out of control, and manual handling left staff vulnerable to strain injuries. This posed both a safety hazard and an ongoing productivity concern for the building management team, who sought a safer, more ergonomic, and efficient solution.
